PORTSMOUTH, ENGLAND - 10TH JULY 6:00PM

JERSEY, CHANNEL ISLANDS - 11TH JULY 8:00AM - 6:00PM
jersey.jpg

Jersey has earned the nickname ‘Island of Flowers’ thanks to its temperate climate, long hours of sunshine and rich soil, all ensuring glorious yearround blooms on this, the largest of the Channel Islands. Occupied by Nazi Germany for most of the Second World War, this turbulent time in history is well documented throughout the island. Perhaps visit the Jersey War Tunnels and Underground Hospital or view the award-winning Occupation Tapestry.

AT SEA 12TH JULY
COBH, IRELAND - 13TH JULY 8:00AM - 6:00PM
cobh-ireland.jpg

Soak up wonderful views of one of the finest natural harbours in the world as you approach Cobh in County Cork. Steeped in history, this tiny fishing village was the departure point for 2.5 million of the 6 million people who emigrated from Ireland to North America between 1848 and 1950, and is home to one of Western Europe’s largest concentration of prehistoric monuments.

GLENGARRIFF, IRELAND - 14TH JULY 8:00AM - 6:00PM
seals-bantry-bay-glenarriff.jpg

Located on stunning Bantry Bay, where the mountains meet the sea, your next port is Glengarriff, a maiden call for Voyager. Boasting a mild climate due to the Jet Stream which warms the waters of the bay, rare plants flourish here, alongside ancient woodlands. Famed for its natural beauty, step ashore in this delightful village to admire hillsides carpeted with colourful rhododendrons and camellias and the rugged landscapes of the Beara Peninsula.

FOYNES, IRELAND - 15TH JULY 8:00AM - 8:00PM
foynes.jpg

Under two centuries old, the ‘new town’ of Foynes boasts a rich maritime and aviation history thanks to its deepwater seaport. During the Second World War seaplanes would land here, and as a result it became one of the largest civilian airports in Europe at the time. Perhaps head to the Flying Boat Museum, where this history is documented. You’ll also learn about the town’s connection to the world-famous tipple, Irish coffee, created to warm up American passengers on a seaplane which left the airbase and was forced to return due to bad weather.

GALWAY, IRELAND - 16TH JULY 7:00AM - 2:30PM
galway.jpg

A bohemian city steeped in medieval history, Galway is often described as the cultural heart of Ireland. Wander through cobble-stoned lanes, and maybe set foot in the Collegiate Church of St Nicholas - built in 1320, it is believed that Christopher Columbus prayed here in 1477 before setting off on his voyage to the New World. Less welcome visitors were the Cromwellian troops who used the church as stables for their horses after the siege of Galway in 1652.

KILLYBEGS, IRELAND - 17TH JULY 8:00AM - 6:00PM
killybegs.jpg

The charming town of Killybegs, situated on Donegal Bay and developed around a beautiful natural harbour, is Ireland’s largest fishing port. It was here that in 1588 the Spanish Armada ship Girona was anchored for repairs to her rudder, only to be wrecked on the Antrim Coast just days later. The gold jewellery that was recovered from the wreck in 1967 is the greatest ever find of Spanish Armada treasure and is on display in the Ulster Museum in Belfast.

LONDONDERRY, NORTHERN IRELAND - 18TH JULY 8:00AM - 7:00PM
londonderry.jpg

Voyager makes another maiden call, this time to Londonderry, a city that can trace its roots back to the 6th century. Head ashore to admire St Columb’s Cathedral, and stroll along the 17th century city walls - this is one of the finest examples of walled cities in Europe and the only one in Ireland.

BELFAST, NORTHERN IRELAND - 19TH JULY 7:00AM - 7:00PM
belfast.jpg

One of the world’s greatest shipbuilding centres, Belfast has a long and fascinating maritime history. The ill-fated Titanic - perhaps the world’s most iconic ship - was built here and its story is told in an excellent visitor centre. The National Trust-owned Mount Stewart House is accessible from Belfast, and it is also your gateway to the renowned Giant’s Causeway. This extraordinary site - thousands of interlocking basalt columns formed by volcanic activity millions of years ago - is the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Northern Ireland.

DUBLIN, IRELAND - 20TH JULY 7:00AM - 7:00PM
dublin-trinitycollege.jpg

Step ashore in Ireland’s colourful, cosmopolitan capital to discover more than 1,000 years of history amongst its well-preserved Georgian architecture. Perhaps take a stroll through the grand arched entrance to Trinity College Dublin, where you’ll be walking in the footsteps of literary greats including Oscar Wilde, Jonathan Swift and Samuel Beckett. Or maybe venture inside the splendid St Patrick’s Cathedral.

WATERFORD, IRELAND - 21ST JULY 8:00AM - 6:00PM
waterford-crystal.jpg

Famed for its intricately hand-cut crystal, Ireland’s oldest city is surrounded by glorious countryside. Waterford’s wealth of gracious Georgian houses, thatched cottages, Viking towers, prehistoric monuments and ruined castles are further highlights.
